Internet Services

Wide-Area Access

It is through this primary connection that TACHC provides IT services to our Members.

TACHC has agreements with AT&T and Time Warner to provide two parallel statewide cloud-based connectivity options for our Members.  TACHC connected Members can either choose to have a separate connection to each cloud for redundancy/backup purposes (TACHC recommended) or else a single connection to just one service, depending on pricing and availability.

Security

Two levels of firewall security are in place on the TACHC network.  All TACHC connected Members are behind the primary firewall located in the TACHC datacenter in Austin.  Since the primary firewall is configured to allow multiple types of access for all of our Members, each connected Member also has its own firewall onsite that is configured specifically for their needs.  In addition to providing a level of protection from outside intrusions, these firewalls are also commonly used for VPNs to/from 3rd party organizations or vendors.  TACHC provides configuration and troubleshooting support for these firewalls, to include configuration of new VPNs as needed.

Filtering and Reporting

TACHC offers further Member support in the form of Internet monitoring. All website traffic from computers on the TACHC network can be filtered to ensure efficient use of Members' bandwidth and users' conformity to acceptable use policies.  Members can customize their filters, exclude computers from monitoring and even receive reports on their staffs' Internet use.

Webhosting

TACHC Members can host their basic website on TACHC's webserver in our datacenter.  Members are free to manage, upload and edit their web content at will.
